Paving stones of the infiltratable Aqua system enable the unsealing of surfaces without loss of aesthetics. AquaPrima is a filter aerated stone consisting of two water-permeable concrete block layers. The fine pored upper layer ensures that no coarse contamination impairs its functionality. The dimensioning of the base course depends in each case on the traffic load and the condition of the subsoil.
In order for precipitation to flow to the deeper soil layers and thus ultimatelý to the natural water cycle, the paving bed and base course also require appropriate water permeabiliy.
For the base course, therefore, mineral mixtures must be used that have a water permeability of at least 5,4 x 10-5 (in m/s). This is the case, for example, with crushed stone in grain sizes 0/32, 0/45, 0/56 if the elutriable components (in % by weight) are 7 %.
After compacting the base layer, a paving bed of approx. 4 cm of chippings 2-5 mm is applied. Then the pavement can be laid.
