Paving stones can be genuine high-tech products.
Even though paving does not contain electronics or biotechnology, each Metten stone is the result of highly complex production processes and great technological refinement. Metten was founded approximately 70 years ago, and we have been producing concrete paving stones for over 50 years. For more than 20 years we have specialised exclusively in the development and production of exceptional concrete paving.
Through this clear focus we have built up possibly unique technological expertise over the course of the years. At the same time we have been constantly curious and this still applies today: to the problems and wishes of our customers, and of course to the correct solution for them.
The result of both of these characteristics has always provided us with a reputation for standing out and for setting trends in the marketplace. An almost legendary example of this was the turfstone, which Josef Metten invented as early as in the 1960s and which almost everyone is familiar with today. A more recent example is provided by CleanTop technology, which was developed here, in-house, more than 10 years ago and led to significantly reduced cleaning costs. This protective finish is internationally patented and is produced not only by manufacturers in Europe, but also in the USA and Canada under licence.
